Osceola32 Gallery: The unveiling of "Bridge to Hope" by Helen Kagan

On January 23, 2013 the unveiling ceremony for Helen Kagan’s “Bridge to Hope” was held at Osceola32 Gallery & Wine Bar in Stuart.

Helen Kagan, a New Yorker of Russian origin, has resided in Stuart for three and a half years. Since her first days in Stuart she became a good friend to Rachel Goldberg and Michael Penn of Osceola32 Gallery. She was one of three artists displaying their works at the Gallery’s very first art show in the winter of 2009.

Helen is not only one of the talented and prolific contemporary artists in Martin County, she is also an holistic therapist, counselor and healer who knows the true value of art.
The paintings by Helen are more than image, color and beauty. They radiate energy which can help activate the self-healing ability, find an inner peace and come closer to a spiritual experience bringing joy and hope for one’s heart and soul. As Helen Kagan explained the conception of her unveiled new painting: “No matter what happens there is always a Hope.”

The beautiful, meaningful and powerful painting “Bridge to Hope” (48'x36') has been specially created for and donated to Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart per request by Mary Baysinger, the founder and president of Baysinger Search & Associates, Inc.  “Bridge to Hope” will be placed in The Mayes Center for Hope and is available for purchase.  100% proceeds go to the Hospice.
Stuart Mayor Eula Clarke, one of the guests of the unveiling ceremony and big supporter of arts and culture, expressed her sincere congratulations to Helen Kagan and thanked the artist for her artistic and spiritual contribution to the community.

Carol Kepp and Osceola32 Gallery unveiled The Holy Family!

January 3, 2013, Osceola32 Gallery, Stuart, FL

Art is everywhere but not often in the form of a Michelangelo painting as Carol Kepp in a local church in Jensen Beach. The well-known art educator and painter unveiled The Holy Family as part of the international exhibition called "Diversity and Divinity" at Osceola32 Gallery in Downtown Stuart.
Kepp has been working on these paintings for many years as requested by The Rev. James, her pastor. The painting of the Holy Family is one of a series of eight panels for St. Martin dePorres Catholic Church in Jensen Beach.

Although an established artist, little did Kepp know when she begin what a remarkable and transformational journey this would become. Year after year she painted works that were at most 10 x 10 feet, which can now be found throughout the church and are also going to be on the ceiling of the St. Marin dePorres Catholic Church.

The Rev. James asked Carol to do the panels in oil on canvas in 2006. Church walls were measured so she would have the dimensions. Mainly they are 9x11x9.5 feet. Kepp had to do some research on finding the proper canvas and the process of applying the oil on the canvas. It needed to be painted in layers. She began by painting the Holy Trinity, thereafter the Heavenly Host, which is a painting of little angles taking the host to heaven.

Kepp said the Holy Trinity took almost 1.5 years to paint and was installed first. These paintings are 19 feet above the alter. The installation is done by a wall paper application. A company installed The Holy Trinity and Heaven.
Creating the Heaven took about six months to paint. Thus far, Kepp has completed St. Francis and St. Dominic, St. Catherine of Serine, and now The Holy Family. Presently she is working on the last panel, St. Martin de Porres, which she hopes to have completed by February.
Most excitingly, the unveiling of the Holy Family took place at Osceola32 Gallery in down town Stuart during their First Thursday of 2013 accompanied by music by Jack Hauthaway.
Stuart and Osceola32 are so fortunate to have our own Michelangelo, Carol Kepp, among us.
