With Gratitude on Memorial Day! - Jay Sharpe

Gratitude is the alchemy of Faith, Hope & Love.

Memorial Day symbolizes the appreciation of those who have fought and died for our freedom. The sacrifice our fallen soldiers paid is priceless and as we celebrate this weekend, let us not forget the real meaning of those who died for us.

The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall

The meaning behind the POW MIA Table

This POW/MIA table was set by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1041 of Martin County to honor those who had not returned from the war. They may be lost, but they are not forgotten. The small table is symbolizing the frailty of one prisoner alone against his or her oppressors. The table itself is round to show that the concern for them is never ending.

Karen Angstadt Art: The art of painting in water

Art created by Karen Angstadt is truly therapeutic. Her ethereal fluid abstracts bring calm and tranquility. An ancient Japanese painting technique Suminagashi literally means "ink floating". Karen uses water as a canvas for ink paintings, before transferring the image onto fabric or paper. Every design is unique and cannot be reproduced.

The 7 min. documentary "Shelter, Serenity, Support" was premiered on April 3rd, 2018 at the "Molly's Dream" fundraising breakfast at St. Mary's Episcopal Church. One of the most heart touching post-production edits was working on Molly's interviews she gave before cancer took her. But did she lose the battle? Molly lives in the hearts of all guests who stayed at the House.

My journey ‘Through the Fire’- One year later

Wheeew!!! I can finally breathe…….again, fresh air!
As I entered the open doors, I could feel the weight of grief in the pit in my stomach. A combined smell of smoke and humiliation saturated the atmosphere.  I inhaled not knowing what to expect next. To this day I am not sure whose face I saw first… all I know is
