Stuart Air Show to Feature Military Jets

Stuart, FL – Military jets will be the stars of the show at the 25th Anniversary 2014 Stuart Air Show on October 31 – November 2 at Witham Field in Stuart, FL. For the first time ever, the F-22 Raptor (US Air Force) and the AV-8B Harrier (US Marine Corps) will perform. The Stuart Air Show is one of only 19 Raptor demonstrations and one of only six Harrier demonstrations scheduled across the country this entire year. The jets will perform on Saturday and Sunday. “We’re thrilled to have both of these amazing aircraft featured this year to celebrate the 25th anniversary,” commented Don McGlynn, board president of the Stuart Air Show. Presenting sponsors of the 2014 Stuart Air Show are Sikorsky Aircraft and Pratt & Whitney. The weekend kicks off on Friday night with two events. Families can enjoy Halloween festivities in addition to a spectacular nighttime air show including aviation performances, fireworks display, carnival rides and live music. Food and beverage will be available for purchase. The Dirty Flight Suit Party includes dinner and premier seating for the Friday night air show and entertainment. Guests will also be able to meet many of the performers, military personnel, sponsors, supporters and VIPs involved with the air show. Throughout the weekend, visitors will be able to explore vintage and modern aircraft, including the DC-3 from the 1930s, the Beechcraft T-34 Mentor from the 1940s, and the Sikorsky Black Hawk Helicopter. The F119-PW-100 Turbofan from Pratt & Whitney, which powers the USAF F-22 Raptor, will also be on display. An impressive lineup of aerial performers will take to the skies and dazzle spectators with their tactical flying maneuvers. Appearing for the first time this year are: Jim Tobul and the “Korean War Hero” F4U-4 Corsair, the Geico Skytypers, the Lucas Oil Skydivers and Mike Wiskus, among others. The Road to Victory Military Museum will present an action-packed WWII re-enactment with re-enactors in vintage uniforms and WWII era military equipment and artillery. A wide variety of community organizations and vendors will have booths. There will be plenty of great food and beer available with a variety of seating options.
