St. Lucie County administrator Mark Satterlee joins Tresure Coast Food Bank's Board of Directors
Treasure Coast Food Bank is pleased to announce that Mark Satterlee has been named to its Board of Directors. Satterlee, a Deputy County Administrator for St. Lucie County, has been a longtime supporter of Treasure Coast Food Bank.
“We’re pleased to welcome Mark to the Board, and look forward to his input,” said Judith Cruz, President and CEO of Treasure Coast Food Bank. “His role as the point-person for economic development will be invaluable in helping us focus our workforce development programs to job seekers and job providers in St. Lucie County as well as the entire Treasure Coast.”
Satterlee has worked for St. Lucie County since 2006 where he began as the Transportation Planning Organization director. He also has worked in Planning & Development Services. As Deputy County Administrator, he oversees numerous areas, including Planning & Development, Public Works, Tourism, and Economic Development.
His understanding of St. Lucie County’s economy will aid Treasure Coast Food Bank’s development of programs that help individuals escape poverty.
“We really work hard with all of our partners and target industries to grow and expand here,” he said. “We’re working with our partners to help people get good paying jobs. We understand how important it is to bring the lower-paid echelons of the community up out of poverty.”
Originally from Minnesota, Satterlee graduated from Macalester College in St. Paul with a degree in Urban Studies. He has a master’s degree in City Planning from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Satterlee is active with the United Way of Indian River County as well as the United Way of St. Lucie County, currently serving as a Chairman’s List Sponsor. He also was a participant in the 2015 Fort Pierce PALs Dancing with the Pals fundraising event.
