The Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast hosted its first Glitter & Glam Gala, a Night at the Oscars themed event, at the exclusive Harbour Ridge Yacht and Country Club Saturday night and it was a smashing success.  Guests arrived in glamourous style, strutting down the Red Carpet, modeling for paparazzi, signing autographs and then striking a pose for the professional photographer. The night was full of surprise guests and some famous iconic star figure cutouts like Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne, Mickey Mouse, Spiderman, the Three Stooges and yes, even Elvis himself. The Museum surprised some of its Founding Donors and Partners by awarding them honors of distinction to recognize their continued support over the past 10 years. Honorees for the evening included; Marsha Cetta, Richard & Lisa Baron, RE/MAX of Stuart, Cleveland Clinic Martin Health, Volunteer Christine Cataldo, The Kibbey Family, David Smythe and The Huizenga Family Foundation. The biggest surprise came when the Huizenga Family Foundation donated a $20,000 match to their initial $20,000 gift.

The Glitter Glam Squad, led by Colleen Holmes and Kathy Carmody, is thrilled to announce that the event raised over $100,000. “The Museum is truly overwhelmed by the level of support we received this evening. We are very excited to announce that all of the proceeds from the silent and live auction will bring a new traveling exhibit and a permanent exhibit to life this fall” says Tammy Calabria, Executive Director.  The Children’s Museum would like to give a huge round of applause to the spotlight sponsors for this evening; The Huizenga Family Foundation, Marsha & Mike Cetta, David Smythe, McCarthy, Summers, Bobko, Wood, Norman, Bass & Melby, PA, Marcie & Mike Ferraro, Ellie Termine, Evie & Steve Klaassen with Colorado Pawn & Jewelry, Tracy Armstrong & Chris Clifford, C2 Equipment Rental, Kris Kerr, Kathryn Bass, Carole & Pete Kozloski, Dr. Richard & Janice Berger, Chapman Capital Advisors, Kilpatrick Townsend, Closets by Design, The Elliott Museum, Lively Orthodontics, and Mike & Lety Atieh. The Museum would also like to thank Harbour Ridge Yacht & Country Club for their superior service. They truly made the event special; Chef Robert even created a hand-made chocolate Oscar that accompanied the sinfully wonderful dessert. Thank you to all of the super stars who supported and attended the 2019 Glitter & Glam Gala!
